Before you take steps to book a comedian, you must think carefully about the type of comedian you want. If you’re organizing the entertainment for a festival of Latino culture, you would probably like to hire a Latino comedian. Similarly, if the event is going to be on a college campus, you may want to hire a comedian who has built a routine around college situations. For a bar mitzvah, hiring a Jewish comedian makes perfect sense. If your audience is primarily seniors, you’ll want to book an older comedian with similar life experiences. Hiring a comedian that the audience can relate to is absolutely crucial. If you mess up in this aspect, your carefully planned comedy show could be a disappointment for everyone. This may seem like an obvious point, but it’s a point that some folks completely miss. You must choose a comedian that is relatable for your audience, no matter who they are. With a little searching, you can find an appropriate entertainer for any group, from bikers to politicians.
Today I’m going to go swim in the ocean with my friend Mark. Mark is a great swimmer and I am very bad swimmer so I do not think that I will feel very confident while I swim. And the worst part is that Mark always brings a video camera and he always videotapes my bad swimming so he can go home and post the video on utube so people can laugh at me later. I hate being left out and I really do not want to go with Mark but Mark is a good friend for a long time now and I have to spend some time with him. I guess maybe I should just stop paying it with Mark altogether but he does say funny things sometimes and that almost makes it worth it. I just wish you would stop picking on me for being a bad swimmer. Maybe I will tell him that I cannot swim because I’m allergic to saltwater. I thought about doing that before but it seems like an extreme way to go just to avoid being mocked. I should probably be a little braver but I am a real coward.
