It was hard on my daughter when she was having problems in math. Most of the time she is really good at everything in school so when she is not it frustrates her and makes her feel bad. My simple answer is that unless writers can prove that they can write better or sell more books than Miss Austen-they shouldn’t do it. Even worse, they shouldn’t even think about opening their sentences with variations of the verb ‘To be,’ such as (It is, It was, or It was not until…).
